About us

Hi, I'm Caitriona! I'm 29 years old and I live in east Galway with my fiancé Sean, almost-10 month old son Henry, and our cairn terrier rescue dog Paddy.

Since having my son last year, having a better work-life balance has become incredibly important to me. I spent years working in the hospitality industry, loving the work that I did but becoming completely burnt out in the process from working crazy hours and being permanently glued to my phone when calls and emails came in at 2am. I made a decision to leave that industry and turned my attention to the burgeoning digital marketing sector. I trained in e-business, started an award-winning blog, and now run two freelance businesses in my spare time from home as both a wedding planner and a content writer! However, as my partner and I are saving up to buy our very first home as well as a wedding, I needed a steady job to pay the bills too.

In my current position as a web content writer for a large online furniture retailer, I leave before 8am and don't get home til nearly 6pm, handing my gorgeous son over to a childminder while I head into Galway city, over 40km away. As a customer success guru, I would be able to drop him off at 7.55am and be ready for work at 8am, finish at 4pm and see him again at 4.05pm! Plus the dog would be deliriously happy to have me at home too.

So why me? I am an incredibly creative person with the unique feature of having a 'business head'. I remain calm in all situations rather than panicking or getting frustrated. The customer comes first, and I believe that a bad mood should be left behind before you start work. The customer is the bread and butter, and without them, there would be no job, so it's incredibly important to ensure they are happy. I was known as 'Google' in college as I had an answer for everything, and if I don't know the answer, I know someone who does. I was recently named a finalist for 'Best Wedding Planner' in the Mrs2Be.ie Brides' Choice Awards for my positive can-do attitude, happy demeanour and calming presence.

As a fellow entrepreneur, I relish the chance to help other small business owners succeed online. My experience in digital marketing and content, as well as a background in art and design, will allow me to help others make the most of their shopfront, ensuring it looks good, is grammatically correct, and is technically easy for their customers to navigate.
